Floods: Number of victims in Kedah drops to 30

ALOR SETAR: The number of flood victims in Kedah has dropped to 30 people from nine families as of 8 am today.

Kedah Malaysian Civil Defence Force Disaster Management Committee Secretariat Division chief Major (PA) Mohd Muaz Mohd Yusof said all victims are at the Dewan Cenderawasih relief centre in Pendang.

"If the floodwaters recede completely, all the victims will be allowed to return to their homes," he said in a statement today.

Almost 900 people were evacuated to relief centres following rainy weather for almost a month which caused floods in Pendang, Kota Setar, Kubang Pasu, Baling, and Sik districts.
