Muhammad Amir Noor, 23, a flood victim from Kampung Manal here, said that after facing the floods last week, he and his family members were still in the alert phase for the possibility of the next wave.
"Nowadays, I always read and see the current developments and rainfall forecasts reported by the media and updated by flood-related agencies.
"We as a family tidy our house in a modest manner, many items are still stored in high places such as electrical items and furniture to make it easier for us to leave the house to move to the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) or relatives' houses," he told Bernama today.
Muhammad Amir said last week's floods caused water to enter his house and rose to the knee level and later waist level.
"We have to be careful if the second flood occurs and if it rains heavily," he said.
Another victim from Kampung Lubok Agong, here, Muhamad Rosdi Mamat, 42, said due to last week's floods which was not expected, there is a need to take precautionary measures in the event of a second wave of floods.
"During the flood last week, the water level here rose to waist level and chest height, but luckily the average resident in this area quickly moved their vehicles and immediately moved to the PPS (Temporary Evacuation Centre).
"For now, I still leave household items placed in high places in case of the next wave," he said.
