Flung out of car, toddler dies in road crash

A toddler was killed when he was flung out of a car which skidded and turned-turtle during an accident at the KM201.6 stretch of the north-bound North-South Expressway here Friday night.
Muhammad Anas Nazhan, 20 months, died on the spot in the 5.50pm crash. He sustained head injuries.
Alor Gajah police chief Supt Muhammad Ismail Muhammad Yusuf said the victim's mother, Norhayati Md Isa, 30, sustained serious injuries while father, Shamsul Azwan Abu Bakar, 29, who was driving the vehicle, had mild injuries.
He said the couple and their son were travelling from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur when the vehicle skidded to the left side of the road and overturned.
"The toddler's body was sent to the Alor Gajah Hospital while the mother was warded at the Melaka Hospital," he told Bernama when contacted here Saturday.
