Foes turn friends: Dr Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim meet, shake hands

Dr Mahathir said he was interested in the case as it involved national security.
Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today made a visit to the Kuala Lumpur High Court, believed to lend a moral support to his former deputy, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Both the leaders were seen shaking hands inside a court room.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said this is the first meeting between the two former UMNO leaders after 18 years, three days.

Dr Mahathir was accompanied by PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar and former UMNO Batu Kawan division deputy chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
Anwar who is serving a five-year sentence for sodomy, filed an injunction to suspend the coming into force of the controversial National Security Council Act 2016.
The former deputy Prime Minister who was sacked form the government in 1998 said the Act was against the Federal Constitution.
Dr Mahathir said he was interested in the case as it involved national security.
