Fonterra Malaysia confirmed that all its consumer products marketed in Malaysia are not affected by the contamination issue that has sparked a massive recall of the New Zealand company's dairy exports globally.
In a statement Sunday, Fonterra Brands Malaysia managing director David Ross said: All of our consumer branded products in Malaysia are not affected by this issue and are safe for consumption.
It added that all Fonterra-branded products in Malaysia including Anmum, Anlene and Anchor/Fernleaf are safe for consumption.
Fonterra also assured consumers in global markets including Australia, Asia, China, Latin America, New Zealand and the Middle East that none of its range of branded consumer products contain contaminated whey protein concentrate (WPC80).
New Zealand warned international health authorities yesterday of exported dairy products, including infant formula, containing a bacteria that could lead to botulism - a potentially fatal illness.
