Foreign leaders have sent their congratulatory messages to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on his victory in the 13th General Election (GE13).
Four leaders who had congratulated the prime minister by calling him yesterday were the prime ministers of the United Kingdom (UK), David Cameron, Yingluck Shinawatra (Thailand), Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore) and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
At 1pm today, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard called on Najib to convey her best wishes.
The prime minister spoke with Gillard for about 10 minutes after chairing a special meeting with Barisan Nasional (BN) members of parliament at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here.
Najib is also expected to receive calls from several other world leaders today.
On Sunday, the GE13 saw Barisan Nasional (BN) being returned to power when the coalition won 133 of the 222 parliamentary seats to form the new federal government.
Crown Prince of Bahrain Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa also sent a congratulatory message to Najib.
