The Foreign Ministry has issued a travel advisory for Thailand in view of the state of emergency that has been imposed in Bangkok and surrounding areas for 60 days starting Wednesday.
Malaysians are advised to postpone any non-essential visits to the affected areas for the time being for personal safety and security reasons.
The emergency decree will cover all of Bangkok and part of Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan provinces.
The Ministry also advises Malaysians who are already in the region to closely monitor and follow instructions issued by the authorities of Thailand.
Those who are in need of consular assistance while in Bangkok may contact the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok.
