Form 2 bully victim recovering from brain haemorrhage

A Form Two student of a school in Sungai Petani who suffered a haemorrhage after it was believed he was assaulted by three senior students on Sunday, is now stable and expected to be discharged soon.

State Health director, Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said the attending doctors succeeded in removing 50cc (cubic centimeter) of the blood clot from the lining of the right brain of Muhammad Anas Amir, in an hour-long surgery on Monday.

"Now, he is still under observation of the specialist doctors. The duration of rest he needs will depend on the development from time to time because we want to ensure that he is truly stable," he told reporters after visiting Muhammad Anas at the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB), here today.

In the incident at 10am, Muhammad Anas suffered a haemorrhage in the head after it was believed he was assaulted and his head was hit against the wall by three senior students after the victim was said to have pulled the hand of a classmate to enter the classroom.

Following the incident, the Sungai Petani Magistrate's Court yesterday allowed a remand order for three days from yesterday on the four suspects in the bullying case.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Anas' father, Amir Ahmad, 47, said he was most thankful that his son had regained consciousness and showing positive developments besides having the appetite to eat.
