His mother, Norizan Johari, 43, lodged a police report this morning.
A Form One student of a secondary school in Jitra claimed to suffer back injury after he was allegedly beaten up by a student at his school yesterday.
In the 3.30pm incident, the victim, Mohd Danish Danial Al-Sofian,13, sustained an injury on his spine after he fell down and hit the edge of a shoe rack in the school computer laboratory.
He claimed that a Form One student from another class sought revenge after he was accused to have reported the student's hairstyle that did not follow the guidelines set by the school.
"I was surrounded by several students before the said student punched me in the abdomen and face. Subsequently, I fell down and hit the shoe rack. I could not stand up because my back was in pain.
"I could not move and had difficulty in breathing. They ran away when a teacher came to control the situation," said the youngest child of two siblings when met at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) here today.
Mohd Danish Danial said he was later taken to Jitra Hospital by his uncle at 4pm for treatment before he was referred to HSB at around 10pm.
His mother, Norizan Johari, 43, lodged a police report this morning. The Kedah Education Department in a short statement said they had contacted the school to obtain information on the incident before taking any action.
