Former clerk detained for alleged CBT, involving RM1.3 million

Police have detained a woman, who is a former clerk at a company in Medah Ipoh Bestari here on suspicion of committing criminal breach of trust (CBT), involving pre-paid telephone top-up stocks, worth about RM1.3 million, without the permission of her employer.
Perak Commercial Criminal Investigation Department head Supt Maszely Minhad said the woman, aged 33, was detained when she surrendered herself at the Sungai Senam police station yesterday.
He said the police had been looking for the woman following a report lodged by the managing director of the company last May 26.
The police had obtained an order to remand her for three days beginning today for investigation under Section 408 of the Criminal Code, he added.
