SIBU: Former Jemoreng assemblyman Abu Seman Jahwi died at a private hospital here at about 5 am today, due to heart complication.
He was 64.
Abu Seman is survived by wife Dayang Normaliza Awang Tambi and four daughters.
Dayang Normaliza said her husband, who was the political secretary to the Sarawak Chief Minister, was taken to the hospital after suffering high fever and complaining of chest pain.
Abu Seman's remains were brought to the An-Nur Mosque for prayers and will be buried at the Kemuyang Muslim cemetery after the Friday prayers.
He was the first assemblyman for the Jemoreng state constituency after the seat was first contested in 2006 but did not defend the seat in the 11th Sarawak Election to give way to former Perlis mufti Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya.
