Former N.Sembilan mufti dies
Mohd Murtadza, was the Negeri Sembilan government Mufti for 22 years from 1987.
A former Mufti of Negeri Sembilan Datuk Mohd Murtadza Ahmad, 79, died of old age today.
Mohd Murtadza, who died at his eldest offspring, Hafif's house in Sendayan near here, at 3.08 pm, left behind wife, Datin Lily Mohd Sidek, 68, and six children.
Speaking to Bernama, Hafif, 41, said his late father's remains would be taken to the latter's house in Taman Seri Putih, Rasah, for prayers before burial at Makam Haji Said at 11 am tomorrow.
Mohd Murtadza, was the Negeri Sembilan government Mufti for 22 years from 1987.
He was awarded the 2000 Negri Sembilan Maal Hijrah Figure and Ulama Figure Award in conjunction with the 100th year anniversary of Al-Attas Arabiah Madrazah in Johor in 2011. - BERNAMA
