Former police lance corporal pleads guilty to accepting RM3,900 bribe

SHAH ALAM: A former police lance corporal pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here today to six counts of accepting bribes, totalling RM3,900 from an owner of a spa centre.
Mohd Shahridhuan Zohir, 30, made the plea before judge Yang Zaimey Yang Ghazali.
On an alternative charge, he was alleged to have accepted RM600 from the 42-year-old owner of the spa centre, who he knew had connections with his official duty.
On five other charges, Mohd Shahridhuan, who was then with the Bandar Teknologi Community Police Station, was charged, together with three other policemen, with accepting a total of RM3,300 from the same spa centre owner, at a restaurant at Jalan Reko, Kajang, between June 27, 2016 and Feb 4, 2017.
He was allowed bail of RM5,500 with one surety for all charges and the court set Feb 16 for mention .
Prosecuting officer from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Tuan Attfina Tuan Kamaluddin, prosecuted.
