Former Selangor state executive councillor Datuk Sanat Said died after being admitted to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here, today. He was 67.
The deceased had earlier attended the 10th annual general meeting of the Johor Council of Former Elected Representatives (Mubarak) at a hotel here as a Selangor observer, said Johor Mubarak president Datuk Jaafar Hamzah.
Sanat, who was taken to the hospital after complaining of a stomach ache at about 10am, died at 11.10am.
Jaafar said Sanat did not show any signs of sickness when he arrived here for the AGM on Wednesday.
"In fact, we had drinks at the hotel's cafe. We had informed his family of his demise and they arrived here at noon today. Johor Mubarak would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family," he added.
Meanwhile, the Johor State Secretariat is making arrangements to send Sanat's remains to his family home in Selangor.
Sanat will be buried at the Batu Belah Muslim Cemetery, Kapar tonight, said Selangor Mubarak secretary Datuk Samad Maharuddin in a statement
