Former Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) major, Zaidi Ahmad, has reportedly expressed his intention to join Pas.
According to The Malaysian Insider, Zaidi will join the Islamist party once he obtains his new identity card as a civilian.
“I will join Pas. I’m waiting for my civilian IC.
“I’m more to Islam, so that’s why I choose Parti Islam Se-Malaysia. I want to contribute in this way,” he was quote as saying by the news portal.
He added his interest to join Pas was because it upheld Islam.
On January 12, Zaidi had been sacked from the air force after the Military Court found him guilty of breaching military procedures for making media statements on the ineffectiveness of indelible ink used in the 2013 general election.
The decision was made by Presiding officer Colonel Saadon Hasnan, who chaired the five-member panel comprising Lieutenant Colonel Zainurin Mohd Don, Major Khuzairi Mohd Arshad, Major Khairul Nizam Taib and Major S. Nadzeer Salehuddin.
