The four Malaysians who were kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf militant group and released last Wednesday are expected to return to Sarawak tomorrow.
Bukit Aman Special Branch director Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the process of taking statements from all the victims for documentation was almost completed.
"Police are taking their statements to identify who had kidnapped all of them and looking at several other matters.
"They are expected to return to Sarawak tomorrow and police will handle the process of bringing them back," he told Bernama here.
The four were brothers Wong Teck Kang, 31, and Wong Teck Chii, 29, their cousin, Johny Lau Jung Hien, 21, and tugboat crew member Wong Hung Sing, 34.
They were kidnapped in Pulau Ligitan, Semporna, Sabah on April 1.
On Friday, Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Awang Sahari EM Nadzeer had said statements from all the four individuals were taken as soon as they arrived in Kota Kinabalu from Sandakan on Wednesday.
Awang Sahari called on all parties not to make any speculations regarding the release of the victims that could caused confusion to the public.
