Four bookstores blacklisted over abuse of BB1M
The ministry said it was aware of collusion by students receiving the vouchers and bookstores.
Four bookstores have been blacklisted over abuse of the 1Malaysia Book Vouchers (BB1M) programme, the Higher Education Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said it was aware of collusion by students receiving the vouchers and bookstores.
The ministry is monitoring the matter and would not hesitate to act against those caught abusing the vouchers, the statement added.
The media recently highlighted that BB1M vouchers for RM250 were being "sold" by students to unscrupulous bookstores for from RM190 and RM230 instead of using them to buy books.
The initiative was introduced to defray costs for the purchase of books.
