Four policemen sustained mild injuries while seven others, a civilian staff and a baby escaped unscathed when a van they were travelling in, skidded, hit a road-divider and turned-turtle here on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred during a drizzle at about 6.30am near the Sultan Iskandar Highway (Jalan Mahameru).
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Legal Staff officer DSP Shafie Daud said the van was ferrying the Kedah police contingent men's volleyball team at the time of the mishap.
He said the injured sought treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, adding that initial investigations revealed the road was slippery as a result of a drizzle.
It is learnt the policemen were on their way to Universiti Malaya here to play in matches to decide the third and fourth spots in the Inspector-General of Police Cup Volleyball Competition at 8am. -- BERNAMA
