All four leaders characterised the action as dirty politics.
Four DAP leaders today claimed that their mobile phones were hacked by certain groups who had sent out racial messages.
The four DAP leaders were Penang Deputy Chief Minister Dr P Ramasamy, Bukit Mertajam MP, Chong Eng, Bagan MP, Phee Boon Poh and Seri Delima state assemblyman, R.S.N Rayer.
A police report on the matter had been lodged at the Lebuh Pantai and Bukit Mertajam police station soon after discovering that their phones were hacked.
According to Chong Eng the message had stated “The Chinese people are the majority in Penang, we can develop like Singapore without the Malays or the Indian community. Long live Chinese party, DAP.”
The leaders discovered that their phone was hacked upon receiving message and telephone calls from an unknown individual who called them racist.
Another message sent was “ MCA has given up, when will it be Penang Gerakan’s time? After this we will turn Penang like Singapore.”
“There were those who had sent me indecent messages after receiving a message which is said to be sent by me,” said Rayer during a press conference held on Saturday.
All four leaders characterised the action as ‘dirty politics’.
They also urged for those involved in sending the messages to step forward and lodge a police report.
