Four held over murder six months ago in Batu Maung

The police on Sunday arrested four men suspected to have been in hiding following a murder in Batu Maung near here six months ago.

Seberang Perai Tengah Police chief ACP Nik Roz Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the men, aged between 20 and 24, were arrested in a raid on an apartment in Jalan Lestari, Perai, at 1.35am.

They were sought since May 20 after the badly injured body of a man was found by passers-by in a drain at a parking lot near the CIMB Bank in Taman Iping, Batu Maung.

Nik Ros Azhan said the four men had been moving from place to place since then and had been hiding in the apartment over the past month.

He said the police seized handphones, a tab and a car from them.

The men were being held under remand for seven days to assist in the investigation into the murder, he added.-- Bernama
