Four, including 'Datuk' held over shooting of businessman
Three men, including a 'Datuk', and a woman were arrested.
Three men, including a 'Datuk', and a woman were arrested over the shooting of a 37-year-old businessman opposite a clinic in Jalan Zabidin near the Mentakab Bus Station, Temerloh on Friday night.
Pahang police chief Datuk Sharifuddin Ab Ghani said the first arrests were made on a 36-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman at a house in Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur at about 6 am on Sunday.
He said the man was said to have rented his car to a hired killer, a 35-year-old Indonesian from Surabaya, East Java, who was picked up at Desa View Tower, Wangsa Maju at 9.45am.
The police found a .38 revolver, 45 bullets and five spent shells as well clothing allegedly worn by the hired killer during the shooting, he told Bernama.
According to an eyewitness, the hired killer was said to have confronted the businessman before gunning him down at 8.15pm on Friday.
The businessman, who was shot thrice on the left rib, was warded at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital, Temerloh and his condition is reported to be stable.
Sharifuddin said the hired killer was said to have received his order from a man purportedly from Thailand, but in fact it came from a 48-year-old 'Datuk', who was annoyed over the victim's insistence on repayment of a RM350,000 loan.
The 'Datuk' was arrested in Taman Permai, Temerloh at 10 am on Sunday, he added.
"The police are tracking down a Thai national who was said to have provided the hired killer with the revolver.
"All suspects are held at the Temerloh Police District Headquarters for investigations under Section 307 of the Penal Code," he added.
