Four Indonesian drug traffickers nabbed in Bintulu
The case was being investigated under Section 12 (2) and 39 (A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Police arrested four Indonesian drug traffickers in a raid at a bus stop near an oil palm plantation along the Bintulu-Miri road at 4pm yesterday.
Bintulu district police chief, Supt Zailanni Amit said the four suspects, aged between 19 and 33, were trafficking syabu in Bintulu, focusing on the oil palm estates located along the road.
"The initial investigation revealed that the four suspects have been in Bintulu for a year now, and they confessed to having been involved in distributing syabu," he said in a statement, today.
Zailanni said payments were made through bank deposits, and the drugs would then be dropped off at the designated locations.
"Drugs weighing 5.15gm worth RM3,000 were also seized in the raid," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 12 (2) and 39 (A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
