Four tourists suffered injuries when the boat they were in hit a sandbar near Pasir Bogak, Pulau Pangkor, last night.

A spokesperson at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department said the incident occurred about 11.10pm when the tourists were on sight-seeing near the island.

"The impact caused four of the tourists, comprising a Korean and three locals, to sustain injuries, while another five people in the boat were not injured," he said when contacted here today.

He said the Pangkor Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call from the public around 11.20pm before mobilising a team to the scene. -- Bernama
