Four men hijack security van with RM3.36 million
Four men hijacked a security van carrying RM3.36 million from a petrol kiosk in Ijok town near here Tuesday, said Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Mohd Taib Ahmad.
He said the robbers had been waiting at the kiosk, having arrived there in a Nissan Vanette van and a Yamaha motorcycle.
As the security van arrived there at 9.45 am to deposit money at an ATM there, two of the robbers burst into the van, seized the firearms and drove off with the four security personnel still inside the vehicle.
"The two other robbers followed in their own van. The robbers drove the security van into an oil palm plantation about one kilometre away from the petrol kiosk.
"They transferred nine bags containing the RM3.36 million to the Nissan Vanette van and set fire to the security van," he said.
Mohd Taib said the four security personnel managed to get out of the burning van with burns on several parts of their bodies.
The Nissan Vanette van, which was also set on fire, was found in the Bukit Badong Estate about two kilometres away from the petrol kiosk at about 2.30 pm, he said.
Two of the injured security personnel had been admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital, he said.
Mohd Taib said police had found fingerprints on the security van as well as the motorcycle that the robbers had left behind at the petrol kiosk.
