The police are looking for four men in connection a cheating case involving several companies in several states being duped into supplying electrical and electronic goods worth RM885,000 since March.
They are Anthony Poon, in his 60s, Ken Low, 60, Steve Lim and C. T. Looi, said Melaka Commercial CID chief Supt Ee Khong Koy.
He said their identities were known following the arrest of a 53-year-old accomplice in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on Oct 16.
Operating under a company registered as Usaha Astana Sdn Bhd based in Taman Teknologi Cheng here, he said a group allegedly procured the goods from the suppliers by issuing post-dated cheques before disappearing.
The goods were allegedly sold fraudulently in the black market, Ee told reporters on Tuesday.
He said much to their dismay, the 17 suppliers in Melaka, Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor found that the cheques bounced.
In another case, he said the police were looking for Chye Chong Fung, 45, a logging company manager based in Bukit Rambai to help in an investigation into a criminal breach of trust case involving RM28,000 and a four-wheel-drive vehicle worth RM90,000.
Chye, whose last known address was 7, Jalan Bukit Renggam, Simpang Renggam, Johor, is needed to assist the police over a report lodged by his employer in July.
