A witness on Wednesday told the Sessions Court here that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) found three photographs with the caption "Selamat Berbuka Puasa (with Bak Kut Teh...fragrant, delicious and appetising) in a laptop computer belonging to controversial blogger Alvin Tan.
Former MCMC Digital Forensics Analysis Division assistant director, Hafizullah Fikrie Rahman, said the three photographs retrieved on July 11, 2013 were photographs before and after editing, besides being captioned.
Hafizullah said he also found another photograph of the same but edited and carrying the caption "Ampunkanlah kami" "Selamat berbuka puasa dengan rendang ayam", the next day.
He said the analysis showed the photographs were uploaded on Tan's Facebook account and could only be accessed on it because he was the owner.
Hafizullah is the 10th witness in the trial of Alvin Tan or Tan Jye Yee, and his former girlfriend Vivian Lee or Lee May Ling) who were charged with committing sedition by uploading a picture with a caption, "Selamat Berbuka Puasa (with Bak Kut Teh...fragrant, delicious and appetising)" which also contained the halal logo in their Facebook at 9am on July 12, 2013.
The duo were also facing a charge under sub-section 5(1) of the Film Censorship Act 2002 for allegedly posting an obscene photograph between 9pm on July 6, 2013 and 2am on July 7, 2013.
In the proceedings which entered the third day Wednesday, Lee was the only accused present.
Tan has absconded and is currently in a foreign country.
Hafizullah also testified that he found a video clip containing an apology by the duo over their action which had offended the sensitivities of Malaysians, Muslims in particular.
The witness then screened the three-minute clip in court.
The hearing before Judge Abdul Rashid Daud continues Thursday.
