Four police reports lodged over insults against King, Queen on Facebook

Some non-governmental organisations and Umno Youth on Saturday lodged four police reports against the owner of a Facebook account who is alleged to have insulted the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong.

The reports lodged at the Klang South police headquarters were by Gerakan Belia 4B Kota Raja; Taman Desa Utama Umno branch, Klang Jaya; Kota Raja Umno Youth; and Persatuan Persatuan Penduduk Pangsapuri Klang Jaya.

Gerakan Belia 4B Kota Raja chairman Muhd Ali Zakariah, speaking to reporters after lodging the report on behalf of the movement, said they wanted the authorities to come down hard on the owner of the Facebook account.

He added that social websites were now being abused by irresponsible quarters to insult the police, political parties and others without a care about the importance of multi-racial harmony in the country.
