Four men, two armed with pistols and two with hammers, staged a robbery at a goldsmith outlet at the Terminal 1 Shopping Centre here today, police said.

The men, attired in black and wearing jackets, gloves and crash helmets, struck at 11.44am and took away four trays of jewellery after smashing the glass display cabinets, said Seremban Police chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun.

"One of them fired a shot but no one was injured," he said, adding that the robbers fled with their loot on motorcycles.

Five employees were in the outlet at the time, but there were no customers, he said.

Muhammad Zaki said police had mounted a hunt for the robbers.

The loss had yet to be ascertained, he said.
