Four-month-old boy dies in baby cradle at home
Faris Rayyan Qhumainy was found lying prone inside the baby cradle unconscious and pale by his mother.
A four-month-old baby boy died believed to be due to suffocation while sleeping in his family home in Teluk Kumbar, Bayan Lepas, today.
The baby’s mother Melati Mohammad @ Ahmad, 32, realised something was amiss with her baby upon returning from work at a factory at about 7.30am Wednesday.
She was surprised to see Faris Rayyan Qhumainy Faizul lying prone inside the baby cradle unconscious and pale.
According to Melati, her husband Faizul Firdaus was at home looking after Faris Rayyan Qhumainy at that time.
Melati and Faizul then brought the baby to the Balik Pulau Hospital.
The doctor however confirmed that Faris Rayyan Qhumainy had died.
Melati when met at the Penang Hospital’s Forensic Medical Department said her son had only learned to roll and lie prone a few days ago.
She added that the remains of their youngest son will be buried at the Masjid Sungai Batu Muslim Cemetery in Teluk Kumbar after post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Barat Daya District Police Chief, Supt A Anbalagan confirmed the incident.
