A Fragrant Voyage

We list down a bunch of fragrances that really evoke the spirit of various lands and seasons:

Florabellio by Diptyque Florabellio is an olfactory landscape, a fragment of wistfulness, breaking through the barriers between memories and actuality. Visualize a glimpse of nature, a path that leads from the woods to the shore providing floral harmony refreshed with the salty seas aromas mixed with sea fennel and sweet fruity notes. Diptyque Florabellio took 9 years to perfect, and it is inspired by the childhood olfactive memory of Christiane Montadre-Gautrot – founder of Diptyque – at Barfleur in Normandy. Listed amongst the “most beautiful villages of France”, Barfleur is an unspoiled little coastal town and fishing port. Florabellio blurs the perspectives between land and sea, flower and fruit, softness and bitterness. Allow your senses to meander towards distant coastlines.

Kate Spade – Walk On Air We all need some whimsicality in our lives! Kate Spade’s new fragrance Walk On Air is inspired by the brand’s home base: New York City. It is a casual and fresh fragrance, floral-packed and built around a delicate lily of the valley scent. Perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux wanted to reimagine his favourite floral themes with magnolia and crinum lily caressing the skin like a breath of fresh air. It’s a light and airy feminine scent that is casual and relaxed, perfect for daytime wear The fragrance exudes happiness; it’s an invitation to seize the day and envelope yourself in the promise of something wonderful. The bottle is a circular translucent vial designed to induce the sensation of looking across a clear blue sky, and it’s finished with a signature quirky Kate Spade bow.

Krigler – Charming California 215 Inspired by the magic and charm of Los Angeles, CA, Ben Krigler and his mother spent two years producing this scent – that’s two years dedicated to bottling the glamour and exciting possibilities of Los Angeles! Charming California is relaxed and bright by combining exotic spices with aromatic florals and hearty woods. The fragrance brings to mind sunshine and orange juice, the picture-perfect spring morning. Cheerful and light, the scent was partially inspired by the Jacaranda, a well-known tree that flourishes in both Los Angeles and the French Riviera. Charming California 215 is a fragrance love story dedicated to the grand vistas, immortal glamour, and exciting possibilities of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

BVLGARI – Aqva Divina Bvlgari Aqva Divina is the first feminine fragrance launched under the famed and enticing Bvlgari Aqva collection. The bright and sensual fragrance is inspired by Botticelli’s painting ‘The Birth of Venus’ and is composed by the perfumer Alberto Morillas of Firmenich. The shedding of innocence, associated with the feeling of skin on skin is the theme of Aqva Divina. As if nature herself created the scent to cheer on the sea, sun and summer but combined with fairly mysterious nuances like precious woods which is evocative of Bulgari’s original fragrances. The opening notes bring thoughts of the salty sea breeze; bergamot, red ginger and salt crystals create an alluring aroma coupled with magnolia and quince for the sensual touch. Picture a woman strolling through Capri on a dreamy beach as the fragrance conjures up imageries of the shoreline.

Created by perfumer Louise Turner, Paradiso has notes of bergamot, jasmine and cypress that gives it a fresh and luminous trail. Aerin – Rose De Grasse Inspired by the timeless beauty of roses. Rose de Grasse represents the most rare and special of these elegant flowers. The rose is an everlasting symbol of beauty and femininity and like an original piece of art, Rose de Grasse is meticulously crafted with an artisanal attention to detail. At its core is a fusion of roses including the hundred-petaled Rose Centifolia, hand-picked in Grasse – the French capital of perfumery since the 16th century where the history of fragrance is art. The fragrance also contains Rose Otto Bulgarian, a dark red, rich smelling flower from Bulgaria and Turkey. These ingredients are extravagant and it gives the fragrance a lush and faint Eastern richness. The bottle is outstanding in the same signature Aerin shape but in opaque white glass, almost like porcelain and would make a beautiful addition to any vanity.
