The petition to free Opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim from jail has been pulled down from the White House website for petitions, just as the number of signatories on the 'free Anwar petition' approached 100,000 people.
A message that reads, 'The petition you are trying to access has been removed from the site under our Moderation Policy because it is in violation of our Terms of Participation' appears on the site.
When contacted by Astro AWANI, the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur had refused to provide any statement on the matter.

The petition, is addressed to the Obama Administration to call for the President of the United States to assist in securing the freedom of opposition leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is currently serving his five-years’ jail sentence for sodomy.
The United States had issued a statement expressing its ‘deep disappointment’ with the conviction of Anwar citing that the decision to prosecute the 67-year-old leader and the conduct of his trial raised heavy concerns about the rule of law and the transparency of Malaysian judiciary.
Following the statement, an online petition urging Anwar’s release circulated the social media.
Discontented with that petition, another petition was addressed to the White House to stay away from interfering in Malaysia's sovereignty.
“We peace-loving Malaysians urge that USA stop interfering in Malaysia's judiciary and rule of law,” the petition read.
