Friday Fives: BMW World Malaysia 2015

The date is 17th to 19th April 2015, the location? Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena. BMW Group Malaysia just opened their doors to the first BMW World Malaysia 2015. Experience BMWs like never before, unless you’ve been to the BMW museum in Munich, this is the event to visit. So be sure to head on over to experience BMWs, Minis and Motorrads all in one place!

Along with the opening of BMW World, BMW Group also took this opportunity to introduce six brand new models to Malaysian soil. The launch was very much like a fashion show, the first model to come down the runway was the all new BWM X6 xDrive35i that retails at RM718,800.00 and then the next came the BMW 218i Active Tourer that will set you back RM248,800.00. The next car had us directing our attentions to the other end of the runway where there was a makeshift John Cooper Works garage where a brand new Mini John Cooper Works rolled out of, price: RM288,888.00.

Two Motorrads were introduced as well, the BMW S 1000 RR (RM108,900.00) and BMW R 1200 R (RM91,900.00). But the show stopper was the introduction of the BMW i8. Brilliantly sporty but yet fuel and energy efficient, the BMW i8 is dubbed the performance car of the future. The i8 will make a permanent home in your garage at RM1,188,800.00, the price includes BMWi wallbox as well.

There were actually two more cars that were new to all, the Mini Cooper 5-door (RM188,888.00) and a facelifted Mini Cooper 3-door. These two cars did not make it onto the runway but they are new to all as well.

This car pays homage to the legendary BMW 328, the car that has won multiple races and is widely celebrated for its unique design. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this concept car, there's no telling where or when it will next resurface! If you’re lucky they would even turn on the engine and rev it a few times.

Mini John Cooper Works

This may be the fastest Mini yet to have rolled out of the factory. Good news is, the car is for sale, head on down to BMW World Malaysia to get to know it better, or even better, get a chance to test drive it! Who knows maybe you will be driving one home!

BMW 218i Active Tourer

This strangely attractive hatchback from BMW is the star of the show, did you know that the car you see here has a manual transmission? This is probably the only unit that will have a manual transmission so be sure to take a look at this interesting hatch when you head over to the event!

How often do you see all the BMW M Sports gathered together like this? The M3 Sedan, the M4, the M6 Grand Coupe and the one model that started it all, the M5. Sit in it. Maybe you’ll find yourself the proud owner of one of these M sports cars at the end of the day.
