We’ve talked about the problems on the CNY migration let’s talk about the benefits the migration had left those of us whose “kampung” is in the city with for that blissful two weeks. Since Chinese New Year is about to come to an end and with the majority of us back, or about to head back, to hog the best parking lots and the fast lane on the highway it is time to reminisce the peaceful two weeks that we had enjoyed during the reddest and hottest festival of the year.No.1
The lack of Traffic jams
It was like driving at midnight only we don’t need to depend on streetlights or our headlights to lead the way! That was how empty the roads were when the majority of humans had returned to their respective hometowns.

Tons of parking lots
Heading to Midvalley at peak hours you will still find awesome parking spaces that are not too far from the entrance to the mall. You don’t even need to drive down a few floors to find one. This applies to all the popular shopping malls with crowded parking lots.

Short travel times
Since there is no traffic to render a 15 minute drive into one hour gruels, you can travel to any location without needing to leave early! Which means those of us who are working during the festive season are allowed to sleep a little later before heading out.

Hogging the fast lane
Alright, this is not the most recommended act to do, but you can’t help it if you’re driving just that little bit faster than everybody else so you need to dive out to the fast lane. When the roads are so empty there is nobody that would start breathing down your neck flashing at you to get out of the way.

The ability to cruise
I don’t know about you but I’m sure majority of drivers keep their awareness of their surroundings at high levels when they are behind the wheel, just in case another driver would decide to do the unimaginable or a motorcyclist would decide to just defy laws of physics. But with the migration somewhere else, and so little cars on the road you can just cruise and see a little bit more of your surroundings while you’re driving.
