Friday Fives: Ideas for Valentine’s Day with your car
It’s that time of the year where car guys, and girls, have to choose between spending time with either their beloved metal beasts or their other halves. Usually it’s with their other halves as their metal beasts wouldn’t complain.
If you have an “other half” who loves their metal beasts as much as you do then good for you but if you have one that thinks anything related to four wheels is not romantic at all then here are five tips on how you can spend your Valentine’s Day with both your high revving companion and human companion at the same time!
I sincerely wish you good luck in pulling these ideas off!

Star gazing

To do this all you need is a Pick-Up Truck! No, romping around off-road is not the most romantic thing in the world but if you fill your truck bed up with fluffy cushions and a few blankets, bring along a large flask of hot-chocolate and park your trusty truck in nice location where you can spy stars galore is! Lay back on your make-shift couch and let the universe swallow you whole.
PS: Remember to slater on lots of mosquito repellent!

Star gazing part 2
Alright so not all of us have a taste for pick-ups, but don’t worry, you can still pull off a star gazing date with the use of a sunroof. Those with a panoramic sunroof, yay for you! Just push your back rest all the way down and you would get to enjoy a romantic night filled with stars. The best part is that you don’t even need to worry about insects!

Picnic by the beach

If you don’t own either a pick-up or a car equipped with a sunroof here’s the perfect compromise! A nice picnic by the beach next to your metal beast would work as well. Pop open your boot and lay your picnic settings right next to it, use your boot as a cupboard for your food. It’s equally romantic!
PS: You might want to turn off your engine to prevent from excessive intake of exhaust fumes though most of us wouldn’t mind that.

Movie night in the car

Nothing spells romantic then a drive-in theatre, since there aren’t any in our country you can always try setting up a tablet on the dash of your car. That way you and your other half can watch your favourite movies (let the lady choose please) inside your car like a drive-in movie theatre!
PS: Of course if that isn’t enough of an experience for you can always rent a projector and a screen, set it up outside the car and both you and your partner can lay back and relax in the car to watch.

Prepare a surprise in your car boot
So your other half doesn’t want to have a date with your car alongside you, don’t worry you can always surprise them with a special event with your car of course. All you need to prepare are pink helium filled balloons and Valentine’s Day sprinkles throw in some roses and make your partner open the car boot. It’s a pleasant surprise to open a car boot to see something pink like that. Just remember that if you have a hatchback or an SUV be sure to use the lid to cover the deco!
PS: You can even hide a gift in the midst of the decorations.
