FW15 Runway Trends

Fashion month may be over, but it will still be six more months before we see the collections in stores and analysing the trends from New York, London, Milan and Paris that are sure to govern next season has left us even more impatient and eager. So, we've identified some Fall Winter trends that we would want to wear right here, right now: cold, snowy weather be damned.
Sheer Transparency
Nicole Miller
Class and sex appeal do a tango when you pair sheer fabric with the right amount of coverage. It’s like wearing a mysterious veil that covers all the right parts – just enough to tantalise. Mature women know sheer glazes have the ability to preserve grace and sophistication while at the same time flaunt our sensuality. This Fall Winter 2015 trend is clearly seen at Nicole Miller, Monique Lhuillier, Misha Nonoo and even Alexander Wang’s runway shows.
Alexander Wang
Highlighting the zones that are most flattering with transparent fabric, if worn the right way can be the right amount of sexy without being uncouth. Wang brought a seriously strong sense of luxury and finesse to his collection with rich fabrications.
Monique Lhuillier

Aristocratic Bohemian
Lanvin
With Lanvin, it gave us sophisticated adventuress and a prominent and wealthy woman who is at the same time a free spirit and portrays someone who has lived her life to the fullest. Raw edges, chiffon dipped into water to have the shrivelled effect. It has a gorgeous symphony of various hems.
Lanvin
Fur trimmings, myriad of colour and fringe - we love this nomadic trend. We are ready for our voyage across seas and exotic islands while writing transcendent poetry along the way. With Valentino, it was the gentle A-line silhouettes and the gold leaf effects on fox-fur coats, as well as lit-from-within quilted velvet coats that gave it a bohemian feel. Billowing dresses that glided down the runway in paisley, lace and patchwork detailing. Burberry also adopted the whimsical folk dresses, gorgeous leg-lengthening suede patchwork boots and patterns.

Tweed Perfect
Haider Ackermann
As seen with Haider Ackermannn’s checkerboard tweeds, boucle shot with luminous threads and skinny, silk spotty scarves provided the dynamism - the Ackermann woman is elegant for sure, but looks for tasteful interpretations of texture which gives her permission to express her ingenuity.

At Chanel, a look as straightforward as a tweed coat over a hounds tooth skirt nailed an everyday fashion need. There were also solid tweed blanket checks, named "the Donald" after the Scotsman who knitted them. With Simone Rocha, the collect ion was of tapestry and tulle, tweed and lace! The same can be said about Sacai and MaxMara – both underlining tweed.

Soft Touches
Fendi
Duvets galore – the puffy trend is taking over Fall Winter 2015’s runway; from Fendi, Chanel, and even Moschino. It’s a modern take on the puffer coat, elevated to a whole new level. Quilted puffer coats got a serious facelift (short and long), an idea which extended to strapless cocktail-style dresses, so that even on a fancy night out you'd still stay warm wrapped in Fendi’s chic quilts. The jackets themselves put forward an easier solution for getting out of bed come winter if stepping into one of these was a choice - from one comforter to another.

Seventies Out, Eighties Are In
Vivienne Westwood
Welcome to the scene – power shoulders, plaid, asymmetric necklines and tulle prom dresses Cyndi Lauper would be proud of! From JW Anderson, Vivienne Westwood and Saint Laurent’s punk princess collection, the ‘80s are alive and well. The retro ‘80s glam chick is dominating Fall Winter 2015’s runway shows. In this respect we should again mention about the revolting and daring silhouettes, the great proportions of metallic details and accessories we have seen on the runway.
Saint Laurent
For Saint Laurent there were tulle prom dresses worn with mannish tweed blazers or leather jackets and laddered fishnet tights. The super skinny ‘Le Smoking’ complete with twinkling dishevelled party dresses and did we mention the micro mini leather skirts and spiky boots? Tons of attitude, frills and more.
JW Anderson
With JW Anderson, we should have predicted what was coming from the grey and red striped carpet as the runway - it was an ode to ‘80s office interiors. The woman on that ruway could run a boardroom; she wore oversized, Working Girl silhouettes, but the underlying ugliness of those ‘80s silhouettes was uplifted by JW Anderson’s touch.
