A Malaysia-born Palestinian has urged Malaysians to offer assistance to those in Gaza in a video message posted on various social media websites.
Hassan Radwan uploaded the 53-second video on his YouTube page on July 13. It was also shared on the Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM) Facebook page, which then garnered 2,738 Likes and 3,308 Shares.
Speaking in fluent Bahasa Malaysia, Hassan shared about the hardships people in Gaza are going through.
“Gaza is facing a crisis. Gaza cannot stand the Israeli rockets. It is expensive. There’s no water, no food, nothing,” he said.
Hassan applauded Malaysia for assisting the Palestinians, an effort he said which was better than that offered by other countries.
“I am asking Malaysians, I am asking the Malaysian government to help those in Gaza.
“Continue to pray for us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia is ready to send a humanitarian mission to Gaza in two weeks' time.
He added whether the aid will be able to be sent to the Gaza Strip will depend where the Rafah crossing is opened or not.
Egypt on Saturday decided to open the Rafah crossing on its side to receive Palestinians injured in the Israeli offensive on the strip, which has claimed at least 192 lives, with thousands injured.
