SHAH ALAM: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is confident of winning more than 11 parliamentary seats in Saturday's 15th general election (GE15).

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, better known as Mat Sabu, this confidence was reinforced after a group of 70 Malay professors, or G70, backed Pakatan Harapan (PH).

"In Selangor, I am confident that we will win all (six seats) with Amanah also winning quite a number (in total) Insya-Allah, more than 11 seats," he told Bernama after the Jelajah HARAPAN Selangor in Taman Sri Muda here last night.

Amanah is fielding candidates in 54 parliamentary seats nationwide in GE15.

Mohamad will be in an eight-cornered fight in his bid to defend the Kota Raja parliamentary seat.

He will be challenged by Barisan Nasional's D. Kajendran, Mohamed Diah Baharun (Perikatan Nasional), Sarah Afiqah Zainol Arif (Parti Rakyat Malaysia), Fahmi Bazlan Muda (Pejuang) and three Independent candidates, P. Raveetharan, S. Surendhar and K. Kumar.
