KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has decided that its chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will lead the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign and also the coalition’s prime ministerial candidate.
The decision was among seven resolutions reached at the PH leaders’ retreat in Port Dickson starting yesterday.
In addition, the Port Dickson Resolution also takes an open stance to negotiate and cooperate with any party, based on the Principles and Agenda of Reforms in the interest of the people.
"We reiterate our pledge, determination and commitment to continue to strengthen Pakatan Harapan in the run-up to the 15th General Election and further display the ability to govern and rule the country with honesty, democracy and equality.
"We recognise the potential and importance of the Sabah and Sarawak Territories as new engines of economic growth in driving the country's development, with the assurance of a more equitable distribution of resources, in line with the synergies of the development of Indonesia's new capital in Kalimantan.
"We will mobilise all elected representatives and state leaders to squeeze all the potential and capability to address policy issues related to economic recovery and people's well-being.
“We will also continue the process of engaging with all stakeholders to form the Pakatan Harapan manifesto," the resolution said.
Among other resolutions include urging Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to immediately advise His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to convene a sitting of Parliament and thus end the emergency.
In addition, PH will embark on a series of tours to the states to disseminate information to the people on Pakatan Harapan's stance and offer on issues of the People's Economy, Political Stability and the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis.
