KUALA LUMPUR: Pas has yet to finalise the number of parliamentary seats it intends to contest in the 15th general election (GE15), deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

He said all decisions regarding the matter will need to be discussed by the party leadership.

Responding to media reports that Pas has set its sights on 80 parliamentary seats in GE15, Tuan Ibrahim said that was merely the figure for seats the party was looking at currently.

"The exact figure will be discussed by the party. Perikatan Nasional (PN) has yet to decide (seats it wants to contest). In any case, each party will be studying the seats it feels it has a chance of winning," he told reporters here today.

He was commenting on Pas Election Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's statement yesterday that the party had targeted 80 parliamentary seats in GE15.

The Kedah Menteri Besar said this was double the 40 seats contested in the GE14, adding that Pas was analysing constituencies that achieved the key performance index (KPI) to be in the list of 80 targeted parliamentary seats.
