Giant pandas from China quarantined at national zoo

The two giants pandas from Chengdu, China which arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 8am this morning is now at Zoo Negara.
Fu Wa and Feng Yi will be quarantined for a month in its enclosure before being shown to the public at end of June.
The government of China postponed the shipment of the two pandas initially scheduled for April following the incident of the missing Malaysian Airlines MH370 flight in March.
The giant pandas are borrowed via the Giant Panda International Conservation Cooperation Agreement Programme.
It is estimated that a total of RM25 million have been spent for the construction of the special panda exhibit complex at Zoo Negara.
Of the total, RM15 million was funded by the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) while the balance by the government.
