Girl drowns in Sendayan swimming pool

A six-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a private club in Bandar Baru Sendayan near here during a family outing yesterday.

Seremban District Police chief ACP Thiew Hock Poh said the incident occurred at about 2.30pm.

"The victim was said to be swimming in the pool while her father went to the toilet.

"When alerted about his drowning daughter, the 33-year-old father rushed back to the pool and found his daughter being resuscitated by other guests before they rushed her to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital here.

"She died at the hospital at 7.54 pm," Thiew said in a statement here today.

Thiew said the case has been classified as sudden death. - BERNAMA
