Girl falls to death from fourth-floor flat

An eight-year-old girl was killed when she slipped and fell from the fourth-floor flat which housed her family home in Kulai yesterday.

In the 2.30 pm incident, Loh Xiao Rou, a Year Two pupil of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Kulai 1, was said to have left the house without her father's knowledge.

Loh, the eldest of three siblings, was said to have slipped through the steel railing at the balcony, which was damaged.

Her father was said to be repairing the house ceiling when the incident happened.

Kulai district police chief Supt Razak Md Said, who confirmed the incident when contacted, said the girl's body was sent to Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital for post-mortem.

The post-mortem report revealed that the victim died due to severe head injury and police had classified the case as sudden death, he added. --BERNAMA
