Girl raped by a man she 'met' via WeChat

A girl from Baram was raped by a new acquaintance she merely knew via messaging application, WeChat during their first 'date'.

In a report by The Borneo Post, the incident occurred in a car at Jalan Astana, Kuching about 11pm last night.

"Initially, the suspect has asked the victim to join him for a walk but he took the victim to Jalan Astana instead. The suspect then dropped his pants and raped the victim in the back seat of the car," said a source of The Borneo Post.

The report also stated that after the incident, the victim was dropped off at her place.

The victim related the incident to a friend who coaxed her to lodge a police report before she was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital for a checkup.
