Gombak and KL experience water disruption
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said in a statement today, that a number of areas in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur experienced water disruption and lower pressure due to a critical dip in levels at its main reservoirs, since yesterday.
The areas were Lembah Jaya Utara, Desa Lembah Permai, Kampung Muhibbah, Kampung Tasek Permai, Kampung Ampang Campuran, Kampung Tasik Tambahan, Taman Sri Baru and Taman Dagang Jaya in Gombak.
And Bandar Seri Permaisuri, Taman Shamelin, Jalan Ikan Emas and Jalan Yaakob Latif, five-storey apartments in Desa Pandan, Taman Dagang and Taman Nirwanasa Maju in Kuala Lumpur.
Saying that the decrease was caused by lower production at the Wangsa Maju pump house and increased demand due to the heat wave, it added that," 10 water tanks are on standby to distribute water to the affected areas and more will be deployed if needed."
Syabas urged people to conserve water and said further information could be obtained via its customer service toll free line 1-800-88-5252, SMS by typing Puspelcomplaint/query to 39222, or Syabas Face book (puspel) and Twitter(puspel syabas).
