Google Play partners with TripAdvisor for travel-tailored music

Google Play has joined forces with TripAdvisor to launch travel-focused music stations inside the TripAdvisor Android app, in a bid to break away in an increasingly saturated market.

Kicking off Wednesday, the partnership will see Google Play music recommendations integrated into the TripAdvisor app, with users able to access themed soundtracks tailored to the destination of choice.

Users who are not yet Google Play Music subscribers, will be offered a two-month free trial of the premium service, directly through the TripAdvisor app, providing they have never used it before.

The stations have been created by Google Play using Songza technology, with the aim of the tie-up to introduce a new target market to the service and eventually convert a percentage of the free trial users to long-term subscribers, according to Engadget.
