KUALA LUMPUR: The government has discussed with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to facilitate the i-Sinar withdrawal approval process.
Minister of Finance, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, said priority will be given to those who have applied or applications that were being processed.
“This will involve changes to the EPF system, which will take some time. It also takes time to freeze transactions temporarily.
"It is to enable the EPF system to credit dividends for 2020 into members' accounts after the dividend announcement at the end of February," he said in the 41st LAKSANA Report on Thursday.
According to him, the government was always sensitive to the survival of the vulnerable and those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The announcement on February 14 is on the extension of the closing date for new registration and updates for Bantuan PRIHATIN Rakyat (BPR).
“The period previously opened from 15 January 2021 until 15 February 2021 has been extended until 25 February 2021.
"This is to ensure that the BPR will be received by those who are truly eligible," he said.
He added that these measures were expected to help the people overcome the current challenges due to the pandemic.
