Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the government had the right to know why Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar met Jacel H. Kiram as it related to national security.
He said the police did not need a report to call the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president over her meeting with enemies of the country.
"We are all aware that the former self-styled Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III was the one who ordered the Lahad Datu intrusion in 2013, so we want to know why she (Nurul Izzah) went to see Jacel, Jamalul Kiram's daughter.
"So far, I have not been informed if a police report was made in relation to her (Nurul Izzah) actions but we do not need a police report. If we feel the need to call her, we will call," he told reporters after the launch of the Panther911 system here today.
Khalid said this when asked to comment on the next course of action to be taken by the Royal Malaysian Police in relation to Nurul Izzah's meeting with Jacel.
Jacel uploaded four pictures dated Nov 9, on her Facebook account which displayed the meeting with Nurul Izzah.
Yesterday, Bernama reported that Nurul Izzah had gone to the Philippines on Nov 9 with Batu MP Tian Chua, as part of the party's delegation to meet political stakeholders in the country.
She said the meeting was organised by the Council on Philippine Affairs and the Asian Institute for Democracy, the Office of the City Mayor of Manila and the Office of the Vice-President of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Panther911 prepared by Gigistar Corporation offers security monitoring services to residential, commercial, industrial and public property through internet protocol-based platforms and technologies.
