The media recently reported childcare centres still charging full fees even though parents could not send their children due to the MCO implementation.
The government has acknowledged complaints made by parents during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period regarding their childcare issues.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government would discuss the issue at tomorrow's ministerial meeting including the possibility of authorizing the operation of nurseries and kindergartens.
“We understand that there are working parents and no one is looking after their children. We will discuss this tomorrow as we come up with a more detailed standard operating procedure (SOP).
“All ministries will be involved in (this meeting) and they will propose SOPs under their respective ministries. So, tomorrow we will discuss fully the issue of kindergartens, "he added.
