Government still in negotiations on take over of AES - Ahmad Husni
The government is still in negotiations to determine the value of the take over of the Automated Enforcement System from the companies managing the project, says Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.
He also said there was no specific time frame for both parties to reach an agreement.
"I am confident of an agreement at the end of the negotations. Any commercial matter is dependent on a willing buyer and seller and we cannot expect an agreement to be reached in a week or two.
"When there is a discussion, both parties have their consultants on the issue of value, which we can synchronise," he added.
He told reporters this after attending a Tambun Parliamentary constituency Chinese New Year celebration at Chemor here, Sunday.
Husni said Treasury Secretary General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah is heading the government side on the negotiations.
In a statement last Wednesday, the Finance Ministry said the take over of the AES from Beta Tegap Sdn Bhd and ATES Sdn Bhd, the two companies originally entrusted to manage it, was in line with the government decision to do so through AES Solutions Sdn Bhd.
