Government tables RM3.08 billion Supplementary Supply Bill

The government today tabled the Supplementary Supply (2016) Bill 2017 seeking additional expenditure of RM3.08 billion (RM3,081,413,026) for services.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Othman Aziz tabled the bill for first reading in the Dewan Rakyat.
A large part of the sum was allocated to the Statutory Fund, that is RM2,248,437,560, followed by for the Ministry of Education (RM297,960,000), the Ministry of Transport (RM215,709,466), Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (RM128,000,000), Ministry of Health (RM104,400,000 ) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RM24,126,000).
It also included an allocation of RM62,780,000 for the Election Commission.
The government, through Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, also tabled the Judges' Remuneration (Amendment) Bill 2017 which seeks to amend certain things in the Judges' Remuneration Act 1971.
The second reading of both bills would be done within this Parliament session.
